Oh yes, they certainly do. On the other hand, Houstonians really don't.

i think it's more regions. see up north they pronounce their words completely and have a totally different slang than say a southern or someone out west.there are a few exceptions like the people from BAUSTIN(boston). down south, people use slang more and made up contractions like ain't. up north they speak slower and use better english. then there's that whole soda, pop, and coke thing. pop up north, and anything can be a coke in the south even a fruity drink. this does not hold true all the time, but you have to be around a good mix of all the areas to see. so for some places, yes there is a accent for yall up ther in ohio.

Nothing as distinguished as New Yorkers(NE States) or southern states, rest of the midwest kinda blends with rest of country. But funny question that aroused my interest.I live in Cleveland but have spent 1/2 my life traveling, after couple yrs of between NE States and southern,at about 18 people from Cleveland would ask me where I am from,30 yrs later many still ask the same.So yes Cleveland has accent. They can tell if you from many parts of country but their accent hard to distinguish from the many similar sounding in surrounding areas.

The people in that part of the US pronounce most of their words closest to the phonetic definitions in an American English dictionary. That is the reason why the Columbia School of Broadcasting is located there. Most anchorpeople on the news go there for at least one semester to "learn how to speak".I grew up in Cleveland and now live in Houston.

No, they don't. Its usually some from southern Ohio that do because some people migrate from Kentucky--which has an accent.
