I am in my 2nd year of college. I DO however, want a family ( i am engaged) at least started by the time i am 27/28'ish. With this profession will i be on call? Whats the schedule like?

I would love a hospital job, what are some professions that pay well & allow the flexibility of having a family (i.e not being on call?)

I presume you are asking about anesthetists. An anesthesiologist is an MD. Anesthetists are typically RNs and can easily clear six figures in most areas.

An anesthesiologist is an MD or DO who has completed Med School, plus a residency. If you are in 2nd year of college, you hve 8-10 years to go.
An ANESTHETIST needs less school, I don't know how you become one, but do some surfing.

Both are "on call" and work hours other than 1st shift. You will work weekends.

As far as the hours go, I workeds shift work for many years. As for family, we made the most of time together anddidn't worry about thesmall stuff.

Good luck.
