Went to doctor this morning and he said the baby's head is right down. This is my 2nd child and wondering if anyone else had this with subsequent children and how long it went on for? Any ideas on how to get the false ones to either ease or become real labour?

I'm also on baby #2, at 36 weeks, and I had contractions all day two days ago, I thought that it might be early labor, like with my first I was in early labor for a week plus before actually having him. But then the next day I felt fine. Since it's your second I think that you will know when it is actually time. Just hang in there.

Are you a 100% sure thier false? Chances are if you are having contractions for five hours straight you are in labor. Contractions aren't always exactly regular. I had false labor that was so hard I went to the doctor with three of my four daughters. The other one I didnt even fel the contractions and when I went in formy regular checkup I was dialated to a five. They induced labor cuz they were afraid if I wasnt feelin anything she might just fall out somewhere. Call the hospital and talk to an OB nurse she'll help you know for sure. Good luck and Congrats

Could be any amount of time. Sounds vague, and I'm sorry but it really depends on your body. I usually have false labor for a month before actually going into labor. The last pregnancy I had it for six weeks (baby number seven!)

You'll know it's false if it goes away when you rest. There really is nothing you can do to make it become real labor, just keep drinking lots of water (dehydration can stop labor), and get lots of rest.

Yes I remember them after my 2nd and 3rd. One thing I read in one of the Baby magazines was one way to tell if you are having false labor pains is they will go away if you are able to get in a shower and let the warm water run on your back the pains will go away, but if they do not or worsen then you know it's the real thing.

You should be timing them. Get up and walk around. If they're not going away, and they are coming at regular intervals, you are probably in labor. You can call your doctor. Since you are considered full term, they'll probably want you to come in when the contractions are about 5 minutes apart. Good luck!! I am 24 weeks pregnant myself and getting very anxious! Congrats on your new baby...almost! :)

having sex. i know its cliche, but it actually works. going up and down stairs works too. i used both to go into labor with my child. i dont know how to ease the braxton hicks. i had really bad ones too and i had no idea how to get rid of them. they were so annoying, though. i feel for you.

what did your doctor say about delivering now? if he says you are far enough along (seems like you are) and you have no complications, it might be in your best interest to induce labor now if it is causing major discomfort.

good luck and congratulations!

call your well-being practitioner, NOW! that's what you're her for! that's achievable to be in hard artwork and not experience a great purchase besides the incontrovertible fact that that's amazingly uncommon. in case you think of you experience the pinnacle shifting around down there you bigger call and tell her approximately this. do no longer play around....you would be having this infant this night. sturdy luck!

How do you know they are false? If they continue I would get intouch with your doctor or hospital just to be sure. I did not experience braxton hicks with my children (at least could not feel them).

They will have to give you something in the hospital to stop the contractions. They gave me a shot of morphine and phenergan to stop mine.
