how old is she?? how opposed to a hysterectomy is she?? she could try some sort of ablation procedure, if her OB/GYN recommends. at this point i'd probably do whatever the OB/GYN recommends.

by the way, fibroids do not typically lead to cancer, they are generally thought to just be benign, and a nuisance. read more about there here:

Fibroids are NOT cancer, nor are they precursors to it. Most women have them & don't know it! As a matter of fact, the only time we do, is if they are large or in a bad spot and causing problems. I had HUGE fibroids. They were the biggest ones my first gyn has ever seen. He actually wanted to do a hysterectomy! I was scared and said no, so he sent me to the head of the department. He's now my current gyn. He said that the hysterectomy was a last resort, only. There are surgical ways to remove these things!

A hysterscopic myenoctomy (removal of the fibroids), and an IUD can help, but the fibroids can return. Mine did.

Next, I had a uterine ablasion. Basically, the uterus is scraped out and then scarred. It seriously slows down fribroid growth and gets rid of long periods. I just started having mine again a little over a year after the ablasion.

It's day surgery, and you are given a general aesnesthetic. There is is some cramping and bleeding, but certainly nothing unbearable.

The only thing is, you will be unable to have children. Then again, if you have a hysterectomy, you can't either. There are also other things to consider with the hysterectomy. It is MAJOR surgery, not minor and is not something your wife should even consider unless it's as a last resort!

Have your wife talk to her gyn. about this. I don't know about yoga, but the ablasion sure worked! I no longer have 3 month-long periods or the low hemoglobin they caused!!

Take care and please let me know how she's doing.

If you want to know more about uterine fibroids and you want to eliminate all the symptoms naturally you must read this great book: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=553

Uterine fibroids are a common health concern among a major population of women. Uterine fibroids are benign, non cancerous tumours that originate within the uterus. They are also called fibroid tumors, leiomyomas, or myomas. They are made of the same muscle tissues as the uterus, though they tend to be hardened. This is possibly because uterine fibroids contain higher levels of estrogen than the surrounding uterine tissues. Some uterine fibroids may be so small that they can't be felt even during an internal examination; some may be large enough to make a prominent bulge in your stomach.

She will not get rid of this by yoga. She may not need surgery; a doctor could advise her on that. If she is not having any pain or other problems, then surgery may not be necessary, at least not right away.

If she plans on having children or more children, then she may want to consider having something done right away as this could affect her fertility.

Good luck to her and you.
