Court reporters are generally hired by the attorneys. Once the report has been transcribed it is then delivered to the case attorney for his records. You might try contacting the attorney that handled your father's case. All attorneys keep archives of cases they've settled. You may have to go to the courthouse to find the who the attorney of record was in his case if you do not already know. Be prepared to give them as much information i.e. date, your father's name and social security number, the location of the crime, etc. The more info you have the better chance you have of getting what you need. Hope this helps.

Most likely. The difficulty will depend on where you live. Assuming you are in the U.S., you could start by going to your County Records office and getting a copy of his death certificate. If there was an actual court case (for example, if someone was tried for killing him), you could go to your County Courthouse and ask them the procedures. It should be a public record, unless the judge sealed the records for some reason.
