Sociologically, gender and sex are two different things. Sex is just about biology, a female has a vagina, ovaries, etc; and a male has a penis, testes, etc. Gender however is just traits that in a society are considered either masculine or feminine. A male can be feminine in certain aspects as well as masculine in others and vice versa.
Gays, just as bisexuals, or heterosexuals can be both masculine and feminine. This is based on personality and should not be questioned or discriminated upon.
Sex cannot be changed, even surgically. A man may have a vagina after surgery but still have the basic components of male biology. Sex should not shape your gender no matter what. A man is a man. A woman is a woman. A person is a person.

There are atleast three levels of gender in any one of us.

1.Genetic Sex

where the gender is decided by the Gene type

2. The Somatic Sex

where the gender is decided by the body charecteristics influenced /not influenced by the genetic sex.Eg a person may be genetically male (XY) but his " Y" gene expression may be suppressed due to drugs taken by the mother, pollution, radiation, or other factors, "he" will have body charecteristics resembling a female

3.Sociogenic Sex. Which decides his/her "Male /FemaleCharecteristics" in social situations

A full man is one whose gender is "Male" in Genetic,Somatic and Sociogenic Levels.

We will describe him as M M M or the FULL MAN you asked

Similarly

A full Woman is one whose gender is "Female" in Genetic,Somatic and Sociogenic Levels.

We will describe her as W W W or the FULL WOMAN

Simple TRUTH is that, in today's society there are no persons who are either M M M or W W W throughout everysecond of their lives !!

A person may be male genetically and somatically but he will be exhibitiing shyness, feeling for dependency, extreme anxiety over uncertain issues, less forthwrioghness and even impotency while having sex with females.Such people are Socially M M W and are (more) women like.Few of them may choose a male as a sex partner, thereby becoming a Gay or a bisexual

Now on the other side of it , you have a person who is female Genetically and Somatically ,but Male Sociogenically, such women are W W M socially and ,would try to take the leading role in many social activities and some of them can even be Lesbians or bisexuals

Now marriages between a Sociogenically Female Man (M M W) and a Sociogenically male woman (W W M) will be disastrous since both will not have good sex life.

Also, as more and more W W M women are rising in our societies, this also creates a group of Men (averse to such forthright women and therefore women in general) who become M M W.

The rise of the number of people in M M W has only contributed to the "PROBLEM"(whose problem anyway?) of Gay Marriages.!

NOTE:Manhood, woman hood ,bisexualism and gay phenomena are all respectable to those concerned with it.This answer does not intend to disparage any group on those lines other than by merely describing the pattern of sexual dominance in our contemporary society.

His confidence. A man is defined by how he respects himself, his family & friends and those in authority in our society. A man respects the law and doesn't think that he's above it. A man knows how to handle himself in any situation, when others would cower he stands above the rest.
Who he climbs into bed with at night has absolutely nothing to do with it whatsoever.
Incidentally, if you have to ask that question then you aren't are MAN yet...but there's hope for you, buddy.

XY chromosomes and a penis don't have anything to do with it, I have both and definitely am not considered a man. The only thing that makes a man a man is his belief that not only is he a man, but the comfort he takes in it.

When he distinguishes himself from animals,
then he becomes a man.

When he realises that he is the highest of all
creation, then he becomes a man.

When he devolops his intellect,
then he becomes a man.

When he becomes an example for others,
then he becomes a man.

When he transcends the common limitations
through his wisdom, then he becomes a man.

Security in himself, gay or straight.

No wait. I forgot. This is what most people want to hear:

God fearing. Don't cotton to no queers. Drives an American pick-em-up truck. Beats the crap out of his wife when she back talks. Just like the good ol' days.
