At ten weeks, it would *probably* be okay, baby is about an inch long and really the uterus isn't that much bigger. However, as someone mentioned, it could cause blood to pool, as you are in the process of doubling your blood volumn, creating a blood clot that could go to your heart or brain and kill you.

You have several choices, maybe get a body slimmer that is larger than you'd normally wear, or two, find an outfit that isn't so form fitting. There are several cute fashions out right now that are loose and flowing, and quite beautiful. Go shopping (you have the perfect excuse) and buy something that makes you look beautiful, not necessarily shows all the goods. KWIM?

For circulation sake use a light weight slimming slip. Nothing tight. No tummy/hip combo panels. If you are able to put your hand under the slip and move easy then it is ok. The baby and you need the circulation during early pregnancy. So please do not get a girdle. And I am not worried about you even trying a girdle later on because you can be uncomfortable enough without something else moving the baby in your ribs.

Do you have a Sear or JC Penny by you? If so go take a look and try a few on.

Congradulations and enjoy your event,

Why do you want to wear a girdle when you're pregnant? I think you'd be putting too much pressure on the expanding uterus. So uncomfortable. And not very safe for the baby.

Not sure about safe...if things are 100 % alright with the pregnancy you could probably get thru it BUT Why would you want to ...it would be excruciatingly uncomfortable ...just like sleeping on your stomach has become ...maybe even more so and you COULD be risking some injury to your baby depending on how you are carrying your pregnancy. For the sake of an event and vanity I would not risk it ...be pregnant and proud of it ! Pregnant women are beautiful and glowing. take full advantage of it.

I do not know if that is safe or not, but I would not do it if i were you. Girdles etc restrict circulation and causes blood to pool, therefore stretching your veins. This can lead to varicose veins. I would imagine it is unwise to restrict your circulation as baby relies on your body and your blood pumping through their system so you would potentially be cutting the circulation to your baby.

Hi, i wouldn't do it. Its a bit scary. If you use a girdle, you are sqashing the area where baby is,

Let it all hang out. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing.

I read in my pregnancy books that you're not supposed to wear anything restricting your abdomen during pregnancy, not even tight jeans, because it could cut off blood flow to the baby causing brain damage or even miscarriage. My recommendation is not to take that chance, to just have that tiny bump and be proud! You're growing a life in there, don't try to hold it in!

I WOULDNT RISK IT...I HAVE EXTRA SKIN DUE TO GAINING ALOT WITH MY FIRST PREGNANCY THEN LOSING IT...THE MINUTE I FOUND OUT I WAS EXPECTING MY SECOND SON MY GIRDLE WENT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRAWER...I WASN'T GOING TO RISK LOSING MY BABY JUST TO LOOK THINNER. THAT WAS A HUGE DEAL FOR ME CAUSE MY BEST FRIEND KNOWS HOW ATTACHED I WAS TO THAT THING. BUT ITS NOT WORTH THE WORRYING.
