You can definitely change icons on your desktop. You can download icons from the internet. But i see that you would like your own icons or pics. The best way is to download an incon cretor. The one i liked most is ICONFORGE 7.2you can get this free. with this u can create icons or mouse pointers, gif files too. Also try ur own themes with ANIMATED DESKTOP 1.2 . both are available in download.com. its free to try

Hello yuxinzhu93,

On the Macintosh it's pretty easy to change the look of an icon. Perhaps there's something similar with Windows. Perhaps not.

You single click on an icon so that it's selected, then you use the File > Get Info menu command or simply hit the Command (Apple) + I keyboard shortcut. This brings up a window with all of the information about that icon.

At the top-left is a picture of the icon image. You click on that, and it gets a blue boarder around it to signify that it has been selected. Now you can use the Edit > Copy (or Command + C) to copy the image into your computer's clipboard.

Now you can get information about another icon, highlight that image in the Info window, and Edit > Paste menu command (or Command + V) to paste that original image into the new icon.

Naturally you can create your own artwork and copy and past that image to make your own icons too.

Best of luck to you.
