I am a 21 year old pretty girl, and I have a 3 yr. old boy. When I was about 7.5 mts. pregnant I started getting stretch marks. By the time he was born (one week before due date) I had them bad. I used cocoa butter and vit.E on my tummy 3-4 times everyday but it just didn't work. My doctor said there was nothing I could do about it. I have lost all of my fat but I still have the nasty loose stretched marked skin and I hate it. I have to be so careful with what I wear so it dont show my tummy. Im a girl and I shouldnt have to worry about that, plus I'm only 21. Does anybody have any solutions to making this problem better? I know they don't go away and I know they fade over a LONG time, but I wish there was something I could do now. Know what I mean? I want to go swimming this year in something cute. I also know tanning hides them a little bit but I really don't want to hide them just for the summer. I have a husband and I want to look good for him in the bedroom.

you know what made me feel better...? is looking on the bright side of things. i know it sucks! and they are so gross and ugly but remember that your husband loves you no matter what and things could always be worse (seriously). stretch marks aren't the prettiest reminders of our childbearing days but you just have to get over it and think about it in a positive way, and remember!!! the sexiest thing to a man is confidence!!! you have to love yourself before anyone can love you... good luck to ya!

It's possible......with a big if. Stretch marks are usually caused by having too much cortisol in your body. Cortisol basically comes from a hard-working metabolism. For example, there are many things that can turn up your metabolism to produce cortisol (or adrenaline). The biggest one is not enough sleep, or sleeping while your metabolism is still working from clearing alcohol, full stomach, etc. However, hormone problems can cause this as well. The BEST type of exercise to remove stretch marks is muscle-training/weight lifting. It's nothing aerobic (which stimulates the metablism thus produces cortisol), and it burns whatever cortisol from you muscles by moving them. So do weight exercises to work-out your butt muscles that is non-aerobic. Cortisol is aka for the stress hormone or adrenaline.

Tanning doesn't hide them very well since they don't tan like the rest of the skin. If you didn't want to worry about showing your tummy and stretch marks why did you get pregnant?

too bad i dont see any answers here because i want to know too. I can relate with those flabby stretch marks, but i think the best thing we can do is just firm up our tummies so even if we are waiting for the stretchmarks to fade we at least wont look like were toting a bowl of jelly.

Increase the intake of foods containing Vitamin A, E and C like carrots, papayas, tomatoes . Also food rich in essential fatty acids like fish oils will help in growth of skin cells. You can find more cheap and natural remedies for stretch marks at the link below.

Well...I hate to rain on your parade but its too late. When you start the cocoa butter you need to start the day you find out your pregnant..You can't wait until after7 months pregnant to start it. You also had to take in alot of water to keep your skin stretchy. You can try scar medication but if I were you I would just go see a dermatolgist or a cosmetic surgery. Just remember...if you have another one..it will just be even worse.

Sorry! Welcome to Motherhood.

other than cosmetic surgery there is really nothing you can do. They will fade over time, but if they are deep then it won't seem like that big of a difference. Try using a bronzer or self tanner to mask them.

I have about a gazillion stretch marks. I used Stri-Vectin; it is very expensive but it works to fade them and make them smoother. You have to use it for a few months though.
