There's a film from my childhood I'm trying to find. I don't remember what it was called, but I do remember that it was about a boy who adopted a cheetah (in africa) and then had to let him go. Any guesses?

Walt Disney has a movie called Cheetah that was released in 1989 about a family in Africa and the kids adopt a cheetah, let it go, and then maybe rescued it from poachers?

I would suggest the two that others have listed Duma, and Cheetah.. I can't really remember , I was like bankster up there , with the exception I learned to spell ........

I 2d Chris's answer - the movie is 'Enemy Mine'. My source is - i'm a sci-fi movie watcher/freak! And in spite of the reality that no longer in all hazard a great movie, i will think of of no others that are even close to to that plot
