Sit down with a paper and pen:
1) write all those things you still NEED for you.
2)write down all your WANTS.
3)If your needs/wants are all satisfied then do the following:

1)Divide the money up into 4ths.
a.) decide your fav charity and give 1/4 of the $400 to that.
2) That the rest of the money and:
a)donate a portion to the Humane Society
b)donate a portion to the Red Cross
3.Donate the rest for your emergency fund! Rainy day fund! or whatever you call it.
That's the best I can come up with....except if you are making house payments or car payments you could always pay a bit extra on it every month and you will actually see your total bill going down. Good Luck! Bless

You have $400 to spend and somehow you think it's a philosophical question?

Try the shopping page and ask the Barbie's and Samantha's. If they say more than, "Like, you know, wow!" Then you're sure to get a good answer.

If share investments are out, I'd still invest! I'd spend at least half of it on books - classics only, old or new. A quarter would be fun on presents. The rest I'd spend on whatever takes my fancy as an investment in myself and experience.

Buy food, warm winter coats, and bottled water.

Prepare the food, bring the hot food, coats and botled water to the nearest homeless population. Do not take the easy way out and just drop them off at goodwill or whatnot and let others do it for you.

When you give these things, give them face to face with the people you are giving them to. Speak to them, get to know them. Ask their names and their life and what they care about. Share with them and give in relationship with them and see if it does not transform your life and your assessment of what you really do need and what you just want. And maybe it will change your assessment of what you want.

If you don't know what to spend your money on you're a very lucky person so I think you should give it to those in need.

At the age of 17 or so, $400.00 may seem like alot of money, it's not. Put it in the bank for when you really need it instead of pi$$ing it away.

An X box, all the Dance dance revolution games, and a couple of dance mats.

Or a big trampoline

get a hold of an inflight catatlogue and buy something there -- a folding piano, hotdog toaster or whatever. There are a lot of items there you can't buy anywhere else.

To spend wisely?

Spend it on what you need, not on what you want.
