I was just listening to it ans when to change the song and it wouldn't play. I can't even get it to go back to menu. I tried plugging it back into the computer to erase the songs and start over but it is still frozen! HELP please! I am going to be lost without it! Thanks a bunch!

i have tired everything i know. it will not turn off, it will not let me reset it or anything! it is just stuck on the same screen. i can't turn it up, off, change songs or anyhting else. i have tried to plug it into the computer and nothing works.

Mine did this a few times too.
You have to restart it.
Hold the center button and the bottom play button down until it shuts off. let me know if it worked, it has on mine

One thing that wasn't mentioned on the other two answers is that you have to first flip the hold switch ON, then OFF, and then hold the center and menu key for about 5 full seconds until it restarts. Other than that, if that doesn't work, I don't believe you have any recourse other than to send it back to Apple, but if you got it at Christmas, it will still be under warranty as long as you have a receipt for it.

Read the directions book for your Ipod smartness....Put to hold and then click middle button for a few seconds.
