i'm trying to study for SAT words and i tried very hard to memorize them. i took SAT prep class, and i took lingustic class. but somehow i cant stick the words in my mind. when i'm taking the practice test, i look at the word, and i'm like i seen this word before but i just cant recall the meaning.and also i cant seem to use the words i memorized. i really hate this.
i just want to find out that how many hav the same problem as i am, and what did you guys do to memorize the words and stick it to your minds?

p.s. i'm taking SAT I in march so i really need help cause my writing and critical reading part is really pulling my scores down by alot

I had alot of trouble spelling english words when I was a child (why oh why can't they be phonetic like russian) the way my father really helped is by making up songs where he'd spell the words- if you make up silly rhymes or find something funny or amusing about the words they'll be easier to remember.
Also word association is really good. I used to tutor a girl who couldn't read because of a learning disorder. I turned it all into pictures and her grades sky rocked. Try drawing things or associating pictures with all the words and it will give you an image to remember rather then an idea or a bunch of letters.
