pride comes before the fall.

it realy sums it all up. Before the great depression, america was booming, it had a good economy, everything was growing, people's lives were getting better and more luxurious. etc.

when people get it easier, they become a sort of spoiled, and stop seeing things as they used to. might i quote Mary-Antoinette when the angry starving farmers were razing paris 'no bread? well have them eat cake'.

Then suddenly, in the course of jsut a few days, (the great depression) these 'spoiled' people suddenly were confronted with the fact that the lifestyle they were used to suddenly wasnt sustainable. Anger Panic and Denile followed.

In the following decades, these people suddenly had to learn to not waste, turn the toilet paper over and use the backside. This is a total different way of thinking.

It made our mothers and fathers , grandmas and grandpas more appreciative of what we have ....unlike us today....we have no appreciation for all the blessings we have that so many others don't. Even down to the smallest items like toilet paper, toothbrush, water, food....you get the point? During the depression, many didn't have even those simple things. Unfortunately...even today many don't. But the government has access to help individuals today. But those being helped aren't very appreciative.
