I'm not talking about yeast infections or candida or whatever it's called. I get this horrible fishy smell coming form my vv whenever I get my period. Why do some women have it stronger than others. Even when I bathe twice daily it's still there. Even my smaller sibling smells it. DON'T BE MEAN. HELP ME OUT.

Do most women have this problem? Am I normal?

everyone has an odor down there but if yours is really strong you can go to a gynocologist and have them check it out to give you something to reduce the smell. Or you can also try a vagial wipe to use after you bath maybe to help with the smell also. hope this helps

I suggest that you do not take the pill. Instead, I would try changing your mode of protection (tampon, pantyliner, pad) more often. If left on for an extended amount of time then there can be a smell but it still shouldnt be "fishy". Usually, a fishy smell of the vagina indicates that there is some type of infection, most probably bacterial because a yeast infection should not have a fishy smell. I suggest that you make an appointment with a gynecologist in order to talk about the problem you're experiencing and to see if there is an underlying problem that can be taken care of.

My advise would be go to your gyn and ask. You may just have an infection that could be cleared up very easily. Good luck.

You should get it checked out, or ask in the woman's health section and see if a doctor answers.

may be a bacterial infection. is your sibling sniffing down there, or is it something she can smell from far away?
