From my experience it needs to be hooked up to a computer to be reset. I just got rid of my 97 740i and we had to have a certain shop give the oil change because they were the only ones who could reset the oil change gauge after a change. They had a little laptop that they hooked up to the car and it reset it. My advice is to find a shop that works on European cars such as BMW's so that they can reset it for you. It shouldn't cost you much.....if anything at all.

Radio code? If so, you need to remove the radio. It takes a special tool, then get the serial # off the back and call the dealer.
Or just take the whole car to them and they will do it for a small charge.
