I have an RX-8 and I studied this damn thing all over the internet for two years *while saving every cent I have* and finally bought one this past summer. I'd love a 7 though, a little bit of old school rotary!
I have been eyeing it, but I have mixed reviews.. not on the CIA itself, but warranty issues.. some claim dealers will void their warranty if something goes wrong... so unfair! I guess we have to get them to put it in then, huh? Then the joke is on them.. lol
If yours is an 88, go for it.. warranty is over, and its not a huge mod, you can probably do it yourself.. but if you're not sure, find a shop you trust to do it for you. I cant speak honestly for the 7, in the 8 it doesnt seem to gain much for HP (4-10 if I am correct) but it does claim to give break to the not so impressive fuel economy.. (unless you have a lead foot like me.. *wink*) It goesnt get much 'cold air' as that little Wankel really heats up.. but its sure a great addition.
Are you on forums at all? You should check out RX-8 club.com, and RX-7 club.com. I just joined the 8 one a month ago, and already I've learned more stuff... some real experts on there.

they're good. But if you want better performance( witch is why your adding the cone filter right) then you'll need to upgrade your exhaust. You dont want your car breathing in through a pipe and out a straw...
