The planetary mass is constant. The biomass is just as measurable as the mineral mass and the gas mass, etc. Barring outside influence the mass may change form, consistency or density, but not weight.

Yes matter is neither created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another. All things grow by taking matter already in existence on the planet and converting it to body mass and waste, which gets returned to earth. When the organism dies, it too returns to earth.

Think about where plants and animals come from,, you grow when you eat, the stuff you eat comes from plants, or animals that eat plants, the plants come from the soil and are a complex order of elements and minerals, from the ground, and water from the earth, so as you can see, no weight is created or lost, it is just converted from one form to another.
