Henrik Zetterberg of the Red Wings. He has always been a force, but hardly anyone knows him. He's been on fire the entire season and has definitely earned the leagues respect as a superior player in the NHL.

I was about to agree with the choice of the Madden-Pandolfo-Brylin line as the most underrated players, but then I was coming across the points leaders in the NHL and I found "former" All-Star Jarome Iginla! Remember him? Yeah well he is still doing pretty good, in the Top 15 Points leaders with a +/- of +9 and 5 game winning goals (tied for 6th) out of his total of 28. 10 Power-Play Goals and 67 points in a total of only 50 games. This guy's projected end-of- the-year stats is going to be 90 points and 38 goals and yet, no one is talking about him. I think he should go back to the top of the lists and give him enough respect to make him the All-Star he always was but no one realized hehe.

Go Devils!?!? Yeah :)

Henrik Zetterberg, hands down, outside of Detroit and excepting that SI article today no one says squat about him, besides Gretzky said a couple weeks ago he was the most underrated player in the league.. Zetterberg is the best two way player hands down right now.

Anze Kopitar (L.A. Kings) gets my vote! Even though the Kings are second to last in the NHL standings, they still probably sell double the amount of tickets than the N.J. Devils. Don't they give pillows to all the fans in attendance? Most fans agree that they would rather see fast paced hockey than dull hockey! L.A. isn't even a hockey town!

joe sakic is having a terrific season with 70 points and just scoring his 600th goal, yet when people talk about centers, its always crosby and joe thornton. yes, he did make the all star team, but he was an obvious choice with his carreer numbers and his seniority in the league, only his fourth start in the all star game in what will surely be a hall of fame career though. paul stastny is the most underrated player in the league though. with all the rookie hype going to evgeni malkin, anze kopitar, and jordan staal (although only 7 assists should not get that much attention, i dont care how many goals you have, with guys like crosby, malkin and mark recchi on your team, as a foward, you have to pass the puck), paul stastny has shown what his father and uncle (peter and anton) showed back in quebec. raw talent. he has already tallied 53 points so far, and we still have a month and a half left in the season. he has already set the avalanche franchise record for points in a season, in a franchise that has seen rookies like marek svatos, alex tanguay, milan hejduk and chris drury. (speaking of drury, he is another underrated, often overlooked player, he was the biggest all star snub this year, not jagr). while malkin will win the calder trophy, please, as fans of the game, watch the kids out in colorado, (stastny and wojtek wolski), and give them some consideration

A few come to mind. A lot of people forget that one of the reasons Pittsburgh is where it is is because of Marc-Andre Fleury. Without some solid goaltending from him during the second half of this season they'd still be struggling for a playoff spot.

Also, the Madden/Pandolfo/Brylin line from New Jersey doesn't get any praise for what they do either. They are the ones that go up against and SHUT DOWN the top line from every other team in the league. Without their superb play, while not even taking any penalties, New Jersey would be like LA.
