Best:
FDR (overall, what DIDN'T he do?)
Jimmy Carter (politically, super environmental)
Bill Clinton (economically, he turned a record defecit into a record surplus)
Richard Nixon (alliancewise he was a genious, without him, we'd never be allies with China, which now makes lots of products)
Grover Cleveland (plain old determination)
Thomas Jefferson (thinking ahead, with the Constitution)
Al Gore (environmentally, and YES, he did win a national election, so in my opinion, he's our current prez.)

Worst:
James Buchanan (overall, he started racism and the civil war)
Andrew Jackson (politically, even though was the first Dem prez.)
Herbert Hoover and Ronald Reagan(economically, he crashed the US)
George W and JFK (alliancewise, Bush made Europe hate America, and JFK started the whole communist mess)
Millard Fillmore (plain old determination)
George W and Ronald Reagan (thinking ahead, they both crashed the economy and dropped the dollar)
George W (environmentally, look outside, I went to America, wow, it's a MESS, especially LA)

Most overrated:
GEORGE WASHINGTON!!! If Thomas J had been elected, there wouldn'thave been the civil war (which also wouldn't have been so bad if Salmon P Chase were president, although Lincoln was OK)

I don't agree with Grover Cleveland, but the others are good choices. I still think our best was Thomas Jefferson. He wrote the Constitution. When JFK held a dinner party at the White House, he told his guests that it was the best gathering of American minds, except when Jefferson dined here alone. Washington did set the standard, Lincoln did hold the Union together and freed the slaves, FDR got us out of the depression and won WW2, and Wilson, JFK and Reagan are honorable mentions.

FDR for all the things that have been mentioned already and for one not yet mentioned being: He truly created the strong middle class that led great accomplishments for America, like a great economy, consumerism, civil rights for women and coloreds. I agree our founding fathers, and presidents from earlier periods like Lincoln gave this country its wings but FDR gave it the flight that made it great. And if there could be anyone else Ben Franklin one who did quite a lot without holding office.

George Bush! ;-) just kidding, but I think Washington was a good president, he could have been a dictator if he wanted but he stepped down after 2 terms, after which many presidents have followed his way. Abrhaham Lincoln too for equality

William Clinton. He balanced a budget that was next to impossible. BEFORE you slam me with ugly remarks about his personal life or his love for cigars....check out the sleazy lifestyles of the other presidents you are praising first. Have a good night.

FDR for his creation of the NEW DEAL programs that pulled us out of the Great Depression and saved us from becoming a 3rd world country.

Grover Cleveland was the best US President and he was even voted for two separate terms.
