lose points for asking questions?
if it wasnt for us asking questions then there would be no yahoo answers

I as myself that same thing every single time I hit that submit button and it says -5 points....... 3 steps forward, one step back.

Yahoo reasons that that's a way to keep people from asking too many questions --

i figured that question allso... but
remember the asker is u...
not us... & that's why u would lose 5 points instead we get 2 points for each answer...
that's mean if one question got 10 answers..
tis yahoo answer still has to lose 15 points..
we still got profit yeh..:)haha

I suspect they are trying to discourage people from just asking and never contributing.

They thought it would cut down on the dumb or offensive questions but it didn't.
