In other words, you are stopped for no reason. There are no cars coming the other way, and you wish it were a stop sign instead.
I encounter MANY of these each day and it's really starting to get me annoyed.
If you never really noticed, notice tomorrow.

Not only has it happened to me, but once, I decided enough was a enough, turned right, made a U-Turn and turned right again (so I legally, got around the light and was headed in the correct direction), and the light was still red. The dang thing lasted over eight minutes!

Just tonight on the way home.
Ran three red lights, after stopping and looking both ways.
Once was even in front of a cop, who slowed down as I passed him (going the other direction), but ultimately didn't turn around. I guess even the cops know it's sometimes more dangerous to sit at a red light, than run it. Especially in the 'hood.

I notice it here and there. I live in a busy area, though, and they're basically very necessary, so I just accept it.
