When I came off Depo I never really notice but I gained a stone and a half and I could not shift it.. It came on so quick I never noticed it.
I was not with anybody and I have no sex life for over a year. My periods did not return. I had been seeing a guy for a while using condoms and a month ago I decided to go on the pill. I have just had my 1st month and got a withdrawl bleed which is the closest thing I have had to a period and now the weight is coming off and i am much happier.

I had constant PMT whilst on it as well as gaining well over a stone. I had to wait until the end of the three months before the effects of the injection wore off.

It took over a year for me to shift the extra weight which was really hard for me to cope with as when I had previously dieted I could lose 7lbs in a week. Whilst on Depo-Provera my PMT symptoms were so bad that the doctor prescribed me anti-depressants which I refused to take otherwise I could have been addicted to them by now.

I would said weight loss will be slow but your hormones will return to normal.

The aching which you are experiencing may be your womb contracting as the body was conned into thinking that you were pregnant whilst on Depo-Provera.

I used to be on the depo provera shot before switching to the contraceptive patch and personally suffered no symptons. The lower stomach pain could be caused by some other problem and i would consult a doctor about this and tell them about your sypmtons and see if they can give any advise.

warning- I got pregnant the month I quit the shots. start an alternative birth control method, please!!! Depo is some serious stuff. Your body has thought it was pregnant ever since you started taking it. Talk to a pharmacist about withdrawals, they are the know-it-alls in a good way! M.Ds really do not know

I think the symptoms range from person to person... but you have definately made the right choice coming off the needle, its very bad for you.
My period took a few monts to come back and I ate a lot of sugary foods also.
