By far the DEEPEST SONG I EVER heard was "Amongst Kings" by Nas.
So deep, wasn't released in the US - only in the UK as a "B" side.
Yo, Nas analytically breaks down when he dies, the things he sees; directions he chose; etc...

But, there's a twist - he committed suicide.
Ridiculous beat; ridiculous lyrics; ridiculous concept. DEEP, because in one of the lyrics, he tortures himself and says, "I could have been an Atheist and escaped this sh*t."
Enough said.......That's DEEP!

Gone Away - The Offspring. It's about death and dying. It was written for the lead singer's wife who got killed in a car accident. So Far Away - Avenged Sevenfold. This is a very deep, powerful and emotional song. It is their tribute to their fallen best friend a bandmate, Jimmy. Here's an additional fun fact for you regarding this song - it was actually originally going to be written for lead guitarist Brian's grandpa who passed away. That's where the chorus "How do I live without the ones I love" comes from. After Jimmy died in 2009, the song was finished and written in memory and as dedicated to him. Fiction - Avenged Sevenfold. This is also an incredibly powerful and emotional song. This is the very last song that Jimmy ever wrote and was set to be a duet between him and lead singer Matt. He turned it in just days before he passed away. A bit of an eerie fact - the song was originally going to be called "Death". It was later renamed Fiction. Jimmy's vocals can still be heard on the song, even though he passed away before the album came out. They just used the demo and placed the unedited, uncut vocals of his in the finished song. I Won't See You Tonight Part 1 and Part 2 - Avenged Sevenfold. These songs focus on suicide. Part 1 is from the view point of the person committing (or considering) suicide. It's the explaination and goodbye to their loved ones. Part 2 focuses on the view point of those left behind. Hard To Say - The Used. This was written for lead singer Bert's deceased girlfriend. She died while she was pregnant with his child, so he suffered 2 very painful losses at the same time. 10 Years Today - Bullet For My Valentine. A close friend of lead singer Matt's commited suicide at a very young age. This song was written to represent the ten year anniversary of the tragedy. Adam's Song - Blink 182. This is a song about suicide. Mark actually got an email from a fan about a young kid (16) who killed theirself. The letter was the suicide note they left for their parents. The part "I traced the cord back to the wall, no wonder it was never plugged in at all" come from Tom almost being electrocuted. His amp was in a puddle. If it had been plugged in, he would have been electrocuted. Rise Above This - Seether. This was written by lead singer Shaun, in honor of his brother who tragically killed himself by jumping from a hotel window back in 2007. Cancer - My Chemical Romance. The song title explains itself. This song focuses on the heartbreaking subject of cancer. It's sad in general, but I can only imagine how sad it'd be for someone to listen to this who actually has a personally connection with cancer in some way. The song focuses on a patient who is dying from the disease. Hold On - Good Charlotte. This song is a message about suicide prevention and giving those suffering hope. The lyrics in general are emotional, but if you want the REAL deep and emotional part of it, go on Youtube and watch the music video for the song. It's very heartbreaking. It features several different people who have lost a loved one to suicide speaking about what they have gone through. Here are a few other sad songs that are deep and meaningful - Victim - Avenged Sevenfold When You're Gone - Avril Lavigne A Place Where You Belong - Bullet For My Valentine Say Goodnight - Bullet For My Valentine Where'd You Go? - Fort Minor I Miss You - Incubus I Wish You Were Here - Incubus I Miss You - Blink 182 From Where You Are - Lifehouse It's Over - Cinema Bizarre Snuff - Slipknot Meet You There - Simple Plan Unbreakable (I.J.M.A) - Aiden My Immortal - Evanescence EDIT - Some others = Slipped Away - Avril Lavigne, Not Too Late - Three Days Grace and Wait For Me - Theory of A Deaman.

Janis Joplin's Ball and Chain don't mean much, but gives me chills, makes the hair on my arms stand up, each of the many many times I have heard it. Her voice is so raw and full of pain
