If you're asking how long it will be considered a "good" laptop for. I would say with 2GB, compared to the average consumer it will be good for the next 2 years, and then it will be more standardized. By 3 years it will be average, and show it's age. But if well taken care of, and upgraded to more memory. It could stay cooler for longer. Maybe add a year on to it. I sell laptops for a living and I can tell you most people buy them with only 1GB. Some still buy the Windows Vista Basic with 512MB.

Then again it's also not how good the laptop is but how well you use it. I walked around with a Pentium 3, 512MB IBM Thinkpad for some odd years, and got way more productivity out of it, than another guy I knew who just sat there playing with his 1GB, AMD X2 laptop. I was doing web design, and graphic design on that little thing. I actually did some deal closing, money making designs on it, while my friend's 300 pound *** sat there and played Unreal and ate Ramen noodles all day.

it depends. what speend is the core 2 duo? what kind of video card do you have in there? sorry to say, but no matter what you answer for that, you are already out dated. probably the most advanced laptop available right now would be the one below (the top link is configured, the bottom is just the link to the product). this will be outdated in a couple weeks qat most. it is impossible to have the latest thing. and its even harder to keep up with a laptop. a desktop, at least you can upgrade a peice at a time if you know what u r doiong.

so pretty much what u got there is a good system (hope you have dedicated graphics if you want to use it for games0, but it is nowhere near the latest thing.

Well, RAM can be up to 4GB, so the RAM isn't "top-of-the-line". It's close enough. But what do you use the laptop for? Depending on that answer, the 2GB RAM CAN and WILL slow the computer down, believe it or not.

It will mostly likely be obsolete within 2007. Computer technology always being improved now and is growing at a phenomenal rate.

Put it in the fridge and it will stay cool. The longer you leave it there, the longer it will stay cool!!!
