They're not too far off. Kelley Blue Book is $5440 retail. Like Ride On said...don't worry about the 10K miles, it's nothing. Find out who rode it...man? woman? newbie? Did they just want a bigger bike?.....probably. I'd start in the basement with them....$4785....you can always work your way up!

The first two questions I always ask are "How's it run?" and "Why are you getting rid of it?" You should find out about maintenance. 10K should be the 4th oil change, I think. I can't tell you what it's worth, 6 doesn't sound bad with all the stuff. Always try to talk 'em down a little, you never know.

Mine were all old and beat, mostly Hondas.
We talked hundreds instead.
Good luck.

you'll outgrow it in no time. 883 is great at first but soon will be too small. I bought a 750 for my first and was done with it in a year. go bigger! an older model will be more affordable...don't let the age of a bike deter you, if it looks good and sounds good go for it....mine's a 93(yamaha), and it runs perfect, it's just too small now. go 1200cc at least and you'll hold your head up around other bikers.
