2012 on the Mayan calendar is the end of an era, or a cycle of existance defined by the pathes and patterns of the cosmic energies active at the time, NOT the end of the world. Each cycles ends with a great change or shift in the cosmic energies.

Unfortunetly, very few people can look at one culture without filtering it through their own cultural and religions shives. Thus, this "shift in energies", often described as dark or light energies, was translated by the christian Spanish explorers as "the end of the world". From there you get the nut-cases and dooms-day prophets grabbing this to scare and manipulate people into giving them money or following their rules, and so forth and so on.

Now there are times where the energies shift in such a way that it re-defines the enter worldly paradime, sort of like crushing a play-doo cat and then using the same play-doo to make a dog, but that only happens every 1000 cycles. The importance of 2012, beside being a year the energies shift, is it makes the half-way point in this paradime's lifetime.

the better Mayan classification ( those with maximum expertise) disappears. it really is a secret. The Mayan prophecy about 2012 as of the further understanded human beings in effortless words marks a substitute. yet what substitute would? Our thoughts ought to create any idea shall we imagine on that. yet each person have imagine that what which means is they arrive decrease back from the position the position they're, the position they pass?. some human beings said that they pass to a special measurement. Its conceivable?

Its not going to die it going to change. Its Dec. 21st 2012 to be exact. The Mayans were more advanced than modern people give them credit for. They had a rather eloborate calendar and predicted the solar eclipse that occurred in 1997 over 1400 years ago dude! They measured time in cycles and believed that global changes will happen on that day. Some believe we will be hit by an Asteroid or Metor. I have a show on tape I got from the History Channel about this you should watch...

Actually only one of the cycles ends on that date, and the next cycle begins. The cycles seem meaningless and they begin and end with nothing happening in history. I believe that this is cycle 13, and that it will end, beginning cycle 14 which ends over two thousand years from now, then it begins over again with cycle 1.

As for the Mayans, the world ended for them around century 9. Guess that they did not see that coming.

Many people believe that all the Mayans were killed five hundred years ago, by the Spanish Conquistadors. In fact, they were expecting the Spanish and set up shop, including their sacred objects, in safe distant locations. They have kept quiet for hundreds of years for fear of further persecution. As the 2012 date approaches, some have chosen to come out and speak. Here is what I hear them saying.

The Mayan Indians regard their beliefs as both a science and a religion. Their discoveries are not done in a lab but rather by tapping into the cosmos via the mind. Through the extensive use of meditation, they are able to discover and track planetary movements as well as space anomalies such as black holes. They used this information to construct a calendar so accurate that no present day calendar can rival its accuracy. They also use this information to predict future events.

According to some Mayans, this date marks the end of the long count of their calendar; Set to end on a winter solstice (12-21-12). On this date, our Solar system will be center aligned , in the Milky Way, ninety degrees relative to the black hole, at its center. Our sun will be centered in a position called "The Tree of Life", as it does every 25,800 years. We will have exited the forth dimension and entered the fifth dimension. This date also marks the end of the Mayan "Great Cycle" of the long count, which is equivalent to 5125 years. We exit the age of Pisces and enter the age of Aquarius.

In this position, unusually violent sun spot activity will cause a pole shift. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods will run ramped. Significant loss of life will occur. Earths magnetic field will temporarily collapse. Humans will be exposed to a cosmic energy that will facilitate enlightenment. In this state of higher consciousness, we will recognize that all matter, plant, animal, mineral are bound as one. This realization will mark the end of wars for a time. People will be able to connect to the essence of god (vibrating energy) like only the most enlightened can.

The date marks a goal to be reached. Evil forces will make every effort to keep humanity from reaching the date. These evil forces are those entrenched in the third dimension, in the Material world. They have no desire to leave this age and wish to continue exploiting and endangering all life for material gain.

Wars just prior to this date could be most devastating, with a loss of as much as 2/3 of our population anticipated. The resulting man made environmental damage could make life inhospitable for those who survive.

Humans have freewill, Man's future is not set yet, nor predictable:

they did not. they made a calendar that ended on that date.

the Myans believed that everything ran in cycles. even time itself. that is simply the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one.

the world may change but it will not end.

there is no calendar after that simply because people do not make new calendars untill the year before they are needed.

Guess what? 2003 added up to 23, too!

As for the Mayans, maybe they were thinking of that David Bowie song: "Five Years".
They knew that YOU would ask this question 5 years before 2012! Therefore, they set the end of the world there, ensuring that you WOULD ask.

Hope that helps!

They never said it was the end of the world. It is only the end of the current cycle, and the beginning of another one.
