A good conclusion should briefly reiterate the main points of your previous paragraphs and tie them together to the main theme of your essay in a coherent way. It should not contain any new information. Avoid the temptation to use over-used phrases like "In conclusion", which your poor teacher probably reads at the end of most of the other essays. Be consise and clear, and make firm statements that you have used the previous paragraphs to prove. Compare your conclusion to your introduction. The conclusion should answer whatever your introduction set out to accomplish without being a repetition of the intro.

The conclusion paragraph should just sum up what you wrote about in the essay. I always just restate the topic sentende and sum up what I said about the topic in the other paragraphs. Closing out with an original thought usually scores well with the teacher.

You are dumber than a stick if you think someone is going to write a 500 word essay for you. Stop being so lazy and write your own essay.

continuing from v06b's portion: It is important to note the Convention of 1836, whereby the settlements of Texas were each represented by an elected delegate (54 delegates total). While this Convention was unable to ratify the treaty with the Cherokees, it was able to write and adopt the Texas Declaration of Independence, effectively creating the Republic of Texas. An ad interim government was created for the newly formed Republic, with all this being accomplished under the constant threat by Mexico. The driving forces behind succession from Mexico was the newly created constitution by Mexico, which was to prohibit slavery, as well as forcibly disarm Texan settlers. In addition, Mexican authorities sought to expel immigrants and legal land owners who were originally from the U.S. Thus, Texans banded together to maintain their original freedom and maintain their livelihood. After gaining independence from Mexico, a number of battles would still be fought between the two nations. Mexico would periodically raid and attack cities in Texas, capturing a number of Texans and putting them in jail. Texas would retailiate, but little success was made in the attempts. Meanwhile, Texas sought annexation to the U.S. throughout this period; however, the U.S. was struggling with its own politics - namely the balance of slave/non-slave states, as well as the threat from Mexico about getting involved in the conflict. Thus, Texas had to continue fend off Mexico for the time being. Texas would finally catch a break under U.S. President James Polk, who promised to annex Texas - signing legislation in 1845, making Texas the 28th state of the U.S.; however, this would result in the start of the Mexican-American War, which would ultimately determine Texas' southern boundary. *** Don't forget to cite your sources.....

What's the point of your essay? Summerize that in the conclusion. Use the main points that you made in the essay to support your conclusion. Good luck.
