I feel like most of my friendships are very one-sided. I always have to initiate everything. I always have to send emails first, call first or set up get togethers. I get tired of it. Why is it that I can find time to check on them but nobody can do the same for me? It would be nice to get an email or phone call once in awhile. I could be dead and no one would know. Is there anything I can do?

Friendship is a 2 way street. If they want to be your friend, let them prove it by them keeping in contact with you too. If they cannot do that, they're not the friends for you.

Yes tell your friends that this is how you feel. You are being taken for granted and perhaps your friends just do not realize how things are. Let them know how you feel and then cool it for a bit and see if anyone takes the initiative to email you or something. If it continues this way it is time for you to back off of these dolts and find you some new friend, ones that show the same caring that you do.

What you can do is test them. When you contact your friends develop a situation where they have to contact you and see what happens. You have every right to be concern about this, because this is not true friendship! Good luck

God Bless

the hardest thing in life is to really look at yourself and ask why you choose them to be friends. you'll find as life goes on and you experience certain things over and over....it (life) is too short to put up with those kinds of "friends" and you'll also learn, you teach people how to treat you. so, put an end to it and the universe will bring you the kind of friend you are. it doesn't happen quickly, but eventually you'll see what i mean. also remember to be careful what you ask for....make sure to ask for the right thing. make sense?

Wait a while. Start getting a little bit more patient. If they still haven't come around, give them a hint. Then...kick them to the curb. Good Luck!
