The Best Way is Goo Gone. Let it soak in for a couple of minutes and then reapply an wipe in a circular motion with a paper towel. Then follow up with rubbing alcohol to remove the greasy film left behind.

I have found that Goo Gone can get a lot of it but often leaves a "base". Susprisingly enough Ronson Lighter fluid (The sort you would fill a Zippo with) is a cheap and very effective away to remove all sorts of glue residues.

Mineral spirits, sold in hardware stores as paint thinner, will do the trick. Apply a small amount to a paper towel and use it to wipe off the sticky residue. Then wipe with a dry paper towel and wash with ordinary glass cleaner if necessary. Be careful not to get any paint thinner on the paint of your car.
