Here's the problem:

The exchange rate for the Mexican peso to the US dollar is 5 to 2. If a tourist's dinner bill was 15 pesos, what is this amount in US dollars?



I have to answer in proportions.... idk what those are!! help?

stuck on another problem.... 38/3=342/x

whats x?? is it 1026 divided by 38?

1.It is given that 5 pesos = 2 dollars, and so 15 pesos would be three times 2 or 6 dollars. This is expressed as 5/2=15/x, where x is the dollar equivalent.
2.Yes, 38/3=342/x is solved by cross multiplying, which would give 3*342=38*x or 1026=38x which gives x= 27.
