Cheney got 5 deferments to avoid Vietnam....because he cared for his country so much.
Obviously he can careless how many lives are lost in war, as long as his isn't lost in war.

Remember when they said that the casualties were just numbers. The soldiers in the field are just so many chickens to Bush and Cheney. Even though both of them served proudly during Vietnam to defeat communism. I think Cheney served by going to college and Bush served by getting drunk in Alabama.

Darth Cheney & Bush are both delusional. I would love to
see both of them in a uniform, side by side with our soldiers.

The older I get, the more amazed I am to see these people who are supremely confident in their abilities who are in positions of extreme power who are profoundly incompetent and who never realize the reality that they have completely screwed up everything they touch.
And the most interesting thing is that they all seem to be Republicans.
It really is astounding beyond belief.

I am not amazed by Cheney at all. He need not express guilt. You have an axe to grind with Cheney, knock yourself out. Don't cry if others don't jump on your bandwagon.

War is a horrible situation, nobody asks for it and unfortunately some people(questioner included) forget that America has lost many sons and daughters in war to fight for the freedom we enjoy today.
