I would not send cash to anyone selling on craigs list , if u are looking for a used laptop you should try ebay, where they take credit cards and also paypal, and you will have a record of payment... overstock.com is also a great site you might even find a new on overstock for a cheap price and they also have auctions...

it is never wise to purchase a laptop used. you will not usually get any kind of warranty. laptops are the most expensive to fix and why spend all that money when you have no idea if it will work in the long run. laptops are some of the most accidently abused items you can find

I wouldn't do it. If you needed to try and get your money back for some reason, there's no record of cash. Write them a check.
