I just wanted to know about what age did ppl get their first cellphones and if you remember what was your first cell?

I bought my first and only cell phone on eBay last year, at the age of 56, and put it in the glove compartment of my car, for emergency use. I have no subscription to a calling plan, because I only intend to use it to dial 911, which is free from any cell phone, with or without a subscription. I see other people "tethered" to others by cell phones, so I have decided to retain my freedom in that regard.
Anyone who gives this honest and sincere answer the thumbs down is simply expressing juvenile disdain.

I was given my first cell phone by my parents. I had just turned 16 and earned my driver's license, so my parents thought I needed one for safety. It was a Nokia.
I don't think a child should have a cell phone until they are in junior high at the very earliest, as well as showing that they are responsible enough to have one.

I got my first cell phone in 8th grade, so four years ago. Through a contest ... it was a crummy cheap piece of plastic Nokia thing that broke, wouldn't work all the time, and was bulky, lol, makes mine now look really good even though it isn't!

I had mine in 8th grade(14) but I think if ur 13 and up is the good age to get it.

i got one when i was like 15 and it was a pre pay one...then i got a one with a plan when i was 17, so yeah...idk....now a days with the text messaging and all the chances of your kids running up the bill....i say you should when they are 14, 15 if you got the money....if you think it is gonna be expensive then you should tell them they have to pay for all of it or most of it.....you can see who they are calling on the bill anyways..so no worries about them calling strange people...lol

i was anti cellphones for the longest.... i mean i wasn't keen on being readily available to just anyone... so finally when i got a serious bf and i needed a electronic leash... i got one ... at ummm 26 was it...

i got mine in 6th grade when few people had them and it was a sony ericsson t616 i actually still have it but dont use it
