Doesn't matter- fiction or non. Just something that will be stimulating and engrossing. I haven't read a good book in a long time.

How Green Was My Valley, by richard lewellyn.
This book is literature, it isn't some Dan Brown or Stephen King page turner. It's prose that is just poetic. It's the most beautiful book I've ever read and is just absolutely enthralling.
I recommend looking up books that you are interested in reading on the Barnes and Nobles website and reading the reader reviews. You can get a good idea for the kind of book it is (and if it's any good). Just be careful not to read any spoilers.
Happy reading. How Green will change your life!

At the moment, I'm reading Across The Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn. It's a trilogy about The Otori Clan. The other 2 books are Grass For His Pillow and Brilliance of The Moon.

It's a good story, really.

I'll just give you my favorite books, and I hope it helps. My first favorite book is The Notebook, which you may have already read.. Another book that I love is, The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, which is MUCH different than the movie and MUCH better. I just finished reading The 4th Summer of the Sisterhood, which is the fourth book in the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants series. I would read 1-4 if I were you, they are GREAT books. Happy Reading! :)

If you want something engrossing, I would recommend Kurt Vonnegut's "Cats Cradle." Its such a great story, its hard not to get really into it. If you look at it right, it really makes you think. Sometimes Vonnegut is difficult to get through, but this book is simpler and its just overall a good book.
Or, Haruki Murakami's "Sputnik Sweetheart." This one is sad, but the way he tells the story is so nice, he has a good tone. Its like he's sitting right next to you telling you a story.

If you like sci-fi even a little you should definitely check out Isaac Asimov. The Robot series and the Foundation series are AMAZING! Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card is awesome as well. You might also check out Red Phoenix by Larry Bond if you like action. Hope you find something good! Also, the Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton is good.
