You usually solve that with your lawers

It totally depends on what state you live in. Some states have "no fault divorce laws" where bills will be equally divided depending on individual income, etc. In fault divorce states, depending on the circumstances behind the divorce, all the bills could fall on the person that is causing the divorce. Whoever the primary money maker is in the relationship is usually the one that gets stuck with the majority of the debt.

It all depends on whos on the bills, what other divisions have to be made and such, but i tell you what. I am a member of a service where i can contact lawyers, and pay fees like paying for insurance, but cheaper. Check out this website www.prepaidlegal.com and watch the video, it might help you if you are going through a divorce.
I suggest it to others because i use it myself, its a great service. Contact me if you are interested.

Jules--from my experience--it was 50/50. It didn't matter that the debt was entirely my ex-husbands from before marriage.
Once we married, it became both of our legal obligations.
So when we divorced--we had to split everything 50/50.
Ask an attorney--I know a good one in GA and FL.

Depends on your state.
Then, depends on WHEN the bills came into existence.
Then, depends on divorce settlement.

Basically, he with the biggest lawyer does better... usually.

Here's some sites to check into.

I think it is 50/50 but make sure to ask your attorney to make sure and find out.
