BLEND...it's all about how well you blend it, also use translucent powder under your eyes to avoid raccoon eyes. And try highlighting under your eyebrows with a light pearlescent shade, its very pretty. Darkest shadow should go in the corners and creases of your eyes.
A really cute trick is to also put a dab of shadow on your lower lids too, it pulls together your look.

You can never go wrong with golds or pinks. Also, make sure you use some quality eyeshadows like Mac or Covergirl or even Revlon.Hold your eye in the corner with your index finger and apply the brighter color, then apply a lighter color on top. Highlight your brow bone with the lighter color.
Also you can get tips from some eyeshadow packages and covergirl website!

Well, first, I put on my eyeliner.

Then, a darker color near my lashes.
For the rest of the eyelid I use it lighter.
I always use BRIGHT colors, but that's because my eyes are such a dark brown.

Bright colors don't work for every person.
Then, if you have any eyeliner that is the same color as your shadow, use it on top of the eyeshadow RIGHT where the lash meets the eyelid. This takes a lot of practice, so don't do it on a day when you really need to look good.

Then, put on your mascara, and OULA! Fabulous eyes!

Use an eyeshadow brush to apply. Apply in a light stroke. You can use your fingers to apply and i find it more easier. 2 types of eyeshadow: powder based & cream based.
Firstly, Apply a base colour to the upper eye lid. Then add a darker shades to the centre of the upper eye lid and slowly use your brush or fingers to blend the colour to the inner corners of your eye and to the outer corners of your eyes. Add some glittering powder for some glamour effects. For contact lense users, be careful not to get the eyeshadow into your eyes.
Voila, Your eyes now sparkles...

ensure you employ a base (foundation or concealer or a epidermis colored eyeshadow) in the previous using eyeshadow. And stretch your lid and prepare from the outer nook to the interior nook. Use the lighter colorations first, and test with making use of the darker colorations on the outer corners of you lids or on your foreheadbone.

my best tip is not to use all one color. instead, pick two colors that complement each other.

I have green eyes, so I use a deep purple on the very lid of my eye.. not too high, but just on the lid.

Then I use a dark forest green in the outer corner and blend it into the crease.

The purple really sets off green eyes and the dark green makes it more of a smoky eye.

I don't know what colors work best for your eye color though.

I hear that it is best to use a brush to apply eyeshadow and not the applicator that comes in the pkg.

the key is to blend colours / shades of a colour . a cream colour should go on the brow bone to highlight . darker colours / shades at the crease and the outer part of the eyelid & lighter shades towards the inner part . a cream colour also works well on the inner part past your eyelid a little , near the tearduct .
