Johannesburg people are actually very friendly. Neighbours actually talk to each other and generally folk are not very "clique" conscious. Just avoid travelling to certain areas in Johannesburg and S.A. generally and take advice from a travel agent if touring or better still, join a recognised tour group to get the best out of your visit. Jo'burg has a lot to offer.

They're cool...but I personally could never see myself fitting in with them easily! I found them to be a lot different to the people where I used to live! But that doesn't stop them from being really cool people! They're nice!

most of us are vibey, out going and totally cool!!!!
if you like partying, music, drinks and food....? hey!!! you're part of the family. i work for an ad agency and Joburg has so much to do... people tend to let loose of the fact that they are strangers when in celebratory mood... black, white, indian, coloured...you name it! Especially the younger generation, we are just on a buzz... but in total, even the elder, they are just wonderful people...

anyway.... this question is not specific enough. you cant really categorize a huge population into a couple words. that is like trying to say what people in america are like and you cant give a straight answer with hundreds of different races and cultures and thousands of beliefs.
