i dont agree w johnny or ecat... i dont think she means that she wants someone to bend over backwards, jump up and down or kiss her feet when she does something for them...but simply a thank you or some type of acknowledgement will do... you make think that are appreciative but there are many people who take advantage of nice people and feel that things are owed to them or that someone somehow has an obligation to help them out..and they are really not appreciative at all...im pretty sure if u brought ur b/f or g/f a diamond ring and they just nonchalantly took it from u and walked away u would feel bad about it ..maybe even used

But my first thought would be for u to just tell them how feel straight out..but i know that realistically its not as easy or comfortable as it sounds, so maybe just try to put your foot down..not saying dont help them at all, b/c ur obviously a giving person by nature ,but just ease up a litltle..when people they know that can get whatever they want whenever they want from you they become alittle less grateful and think nothing of your good deed..and when u turn them down actually tell them why you are doing, so they wont think your just being a *****..and maybe also they'll begin to realize how u feel

If you really enjoy doing things for other people (who many not seem appreciative), your good feelings will have to be your reward. You can't make people do anything, and that includes showing appreciation. The role of 'people pleaser' can often backfire, because people will come to expect your efforts. If you are doing too much and it is taking its toll on you, the only thing you can do is pull back a little on the things you do for others, and start doing more things for yourself. Perhaps you'll appreciate it more than they do!

You feel unappreciated? Well I feel freakin invisible!
I guess we just have to keep being nice no matter what & then God will reward us.
There are times now & then when a person will notice you are doing good & being loving & give you the good word.
But if you are just sitting around & letting folks use you, then it is time to get new friends.

I feel the same way...whenever I do something nice for someone, the just totally unappreciate it or think that it's natural that I have to be nice to them. I don't know the answer to your question...I'll keep an eye on this one.

Bad attitude
If you do things to help people (sincerely) you should expect appreciation.
Chances are they do appreciate it.
Sorry, but if your sole purpose is to be appreciated then you are doing it for the wrong reason.
You don't give a gift with the intent of getting something in return and the same applies to helping others.
Listen to Ecat1 she has the right attitude

I truly know what you are going thru now in your life. you feel so thrown out when people you love don't seem to appreciate you. Just stay cool and let them realise. Or else just leave them for sometime so that they know how important were you to all of them. Be blessed, dear. God will watch over your goodwill.

You don't need thank-yous and appreciation for the things you do, helpful things are it own reward. :D
