Weather people tell us how hot and dry it is and where the wind is each day so arsonists know excatly when and where to set fires. It makes no sense. Can't they keep their mouths shut and give home owner & forests a fighting chance?

It's a very good point that you make. The problem is that sensible people also need to know when it's hot, dry and windy. Such information is also important to the forestry departments, farmers, emergency services, military, mariners, aviators, sportsmen and women, county and state authorities and the public at large. Withholding such information would create more problems than releasing it.

You make a good point. I have always wondered what possess people to suddenly drive out to the bush and set the bloody thing on fire. Now I know it's because the weather calls for it.
