So I'm the proud new owner of an adorable little female rabbit. At the pet store where I found her (it was a small pet store) The sign said Mini Lop but she wasn't a lop so I asked them what breed she was and they weren't sure and said that she is not a dwarf but they think she is a miniature. But I looked that up and there is no "miniature rabbit" there's the mini rex but she looks nothing like one. I'm not sure if she is a Dwarf rabbit either since her ears are fairly long and she isn't very small for a baby. I'm taking her to the vet in a few months to be spayed but I'd really like to know what breed she is before then, if someone could tell me what breed she is by looking at her pics below I would really appreciate it!!
Thank you

My rabbit:

She's absolutely beautiful. Definitely an up ear, orange if she is a dwarf. To me, it looks like she may be a "false dwarf." This means both of her parents were dwarf rabbits, but carried a recessive gene. See, true dwarfs are represented by a [Dw][dw] gene. False dwarfs are represented by the [dw][dw] gene. Peanuts are represented by the [Dw][Dw] gene, and this is a condition that is almost always fatal. For every litter a true dwarf has, 25% would have the fatal combination, 50% would be true dwarfs, and 25% would be false dwarfs. Those are usually the kind you buy at a pet shop, because they are not show quality. I have two buns, both are false dwarfs, both grew to just about 3 lbs and stopped. Their ears are a little longer than true dwarfs, and their bodies are longer, though their heads are still quite round, very similar to yours. Hope this helps! See the website below for tons of info on Netherland Dwarfs.

She looks like some sort of Netherland Dwarf. She could be a Mini Lop though. Lop rabbits get their lop ears from their "crown" or the sace between their ears. If the crown is too small, their ears won't go down, they will stay up. Breeders do have some like this, so it could very well be one, although I would say Netherland Dwarf myself.

Hi there, she looks like a Netherland Dwarf crossed with possibly a New Zealand. The fur is not right for a rex, and she hasn't the markings of a dutch...some lops need to have their ears worked with to get them to stay down. She does look like a Netherland cross to me.

I think that she looks like a Satin mix, maybe with some dwarf. I used to show and breed Satins, and I think that your little bunny looks a lot like some of the babies that we had. Satins are a fairly common breed, but they are often crossed with other breeds.

My guess is a Dwarf cross. She's petite but definitely doesn't have the teeny ears. We have a Dwarf cross who looks almost identical to yours.

Very sweet!
