What name is "Connie" usually short for?

Also, is "Florrie" short for Florence?

Connie is short for Constance. Not sure about Florrie. Could be short for Florence. A good way to find out is google baby names, or meanings of names. It's always fun to browse that sort of stuff! By the way, people do use shortened names all the time as full names. I have a daughter named Maggie. I get asked often if it is short for Margaret...the answer is always "Nope, it's just Maggie!". I am also pregnant with my fourth child, a girl, and we were planning on naming her Josie, which is the shortened version of Josephine. Obviously, i'm a fan of the short cuts! :)

Connie can be short for Condelisa and I believe that Florrie can be a short name for Florence. I know a few people that are named Connie as a full name and one that has it as a short name.

Connie is short for Constance. I've never even heard of Florrie but it would make sense that it would be short for Florence. It's the closest name I can think of.

I have nooo idea what Connie is short for. I'm thinking it's a full name?? But when she's like 11-12 and they learn about communism, she'll be called "Commie." Not so nice then.

As for Florrie, yeah, I guess it's short for Florence. I mean, I've actually never heard anyone with that name, but whatever. I don't think it's a full name. And then, there's always the joke that when she's walking on the floor, "You're walking on yourself!!"

Good luck!

Connie is from Constance. Florrie is probably from Florence or Flora! You can use any form of a name that means the most to you!

Connie is usually short for Constance, although I know some people who have just named their kid the shortened version.

I'm not sure where "Florrie" comes from. Maybe it is a shortened version of Florence, but I've also heard Florence abbreviated as "Flo."

Your guess is as good as mine!

Connie could be short for Constatine. But it is a name itself. I wouldn't want the name Florrie. I don't even think that is a real name.

Constance, Consuela, Contantine, etc. Could be longer forms of Connie.

Florence.. usually Flo. I've never heard Florrie.
