Unfortunately, the Honda Prelude is an excellent car. The reason I say "unfortunately" is because I have a Prelude and I told myself that I won't give it up until it dies on me. It's a 1988 Prelude and still doesn't burn a single drop of oil with more than 200k miles on it. So basically, it's a great car that just will not give up on you.

I own a 95 prelude si vtec and it is the ultimate car! A little expensive to fix but reliable, speedy, and durable. I am putting 5,000 dollars into my car in a few weeks and it is totally worth it. Check out this website. It provides an overview of how awesome this car really is. Enjoy!

PS- and dont pay attention to "wolfwagon2002". He obviously wouldnt know a good car if it run him right over! =0)

i recently traded my 95 prelude off on a ridgeline. The car was excellent actually, no real griefs. I got 25mpg (canadian) in the city and 28-29 on the highway. The model i had was the VTEC engine with the 210hp. Had lots of pep and was great in city traffic for getting around. You step on the gas and she moved. The spedometer went to 215kph....i can vouch for 205 (and it had not red lined yet). Its front wheel drive, so be expecting to do a complete tire replacement every 4 years max. I had no issues with the mechanics....all i had to do was take it in for routine maintanence...nothing of any consequence. Just bugs me that they don't make them anymore.

alot depends on the year. if its a late 80s then its heavy and crapy styling. however these years came with 4 wheel steering on some models.
92-96 model is my personal favorite because its not to heavy and has a nice interior dash. the outside styling is nice as well. the si model is nice but at the time wasnt worth the price difference. now you can get them cheap.
97 and on came with the h22 engine which is a strong torquey motor. it is easy to get parts for and has great styling. the only downfall is it weighs alot. the chasis is heavy but it remains sporty with its suspension.

i'm a chevy guy mainly, and i've never been a real big fan of hondas(not saying they're bad cars, just saying i don't like them) but a prelude is one of the hondas i DO like...and might actually buy one if i could find a good deal on one w/ a manual trans. i think they're great looking cars.

as long as the prelude is a v-tech, its probably better than other preludes. i would just the mileage and get an inspection before decided it was a good/bad car.

a shelby mustang would be sweet-----but not if the engine was about to blow and the transmission was dead.

depends on what generation prelude it is... 5th gens we built as a handling based car, and they do handle well. 4th gen was a underpowered car for its weight, but still handled well. basically, those are the only two gens in my opinion that are worth owning. they are strong running cars. try to find one with the h series motor. and try not to put one in the ditch at 135mph....

it is good after you modified. A 98 the right hand side driving, vtech MT with HKS super charger, which order from my country (JP). 400HP about right. (can beat 2006 mustang so far with NOS in 5.3 seconds.)
