just say bye

I'd say "Bye - we'll continue later" and hang up. This would not only soften the guy on the other side but keep you from losing your nerves as well. Showing anger is a weakness and some people take you for a ride based on the emotions that you show.

A harsh expression can be hard on your relationship, if the person who's arguing with you is a good friend, and the argument happened because of a misunderstanding. You can get back to him/her later and clear things up.

To tell the truth, it all depends on how pissed off I am. If I am just running off at the mouth I'll say bye and hang up. But if I am not pissed off, but fire engine red mad, I will and have done it...hang up the phone and will appear where you are at in a very short period of time. That has not always been a good thing for me to do.

In the heat of the moment, I'd probably hang up just because I'm so heated with this person it is like a statement without words hanging up the phone. It's like "Take that bizatchhhh!"

I hang up on people after saying whatever. They at least know that I'm hanging up. I've done that to a certain friend many times, and she has done it to me. You don't have to say bye, but at least give them some hint that you are hanging up!!

I usually say, "I'm hanging up now. Bye."
even if they are still yelling at me
and it's really hard to slam the phone when it's a cell phone.
that really bites

I've noticed that people who hang up on you often, usually someone of opposite gender, take things too seriously. They are usually frustrated very easily.

I never slam a phone, there's no point to that.
