different racquets suit different people, but there are bad brands.

I would reccomend the following brands: Prince, head, babolat, fischer, dunlop and possibly volkl, maybe power angle.
Stay away from: Prokennex, wilson, w line, avery, gamma, slazenger, technifibre and yonex.they are either sub-standard for hitting with, and wilsons are not only sub-standard but brake easily.

It's best to start of with a round design like the 'Wilson Mach' Series, and once you get the hang of tennis, you can't beat the Wilson Hammer design.

I'm currently using the Wilson Triad racket, and love it! Stay away from Donnay...they are the cheapest and worst brand available.

everyone has their preference. If you are a beginner, i would recommend the Wilson Hammer 4.2 (i believe it is); if you are an advanced player, I would HIGHLY recommend the Wilson Prostaff 6.1. I'm 25 now and have been using the Prostaff 6.1 since I switched from the Hammer to the Prostaff at 12-13 (I started playing at 12). The head racquet size is 95 sq in, but if you need a 110 sq in, i'm sure they have one available.

There is no general best.
Whatever suits yourself as a player is "the best"
