I wish they would be less biased, maybe showing some positive things going on, don't shield us from the horrible things going on, but don't hide the positive for better ratings! I think it does a disservice to our men and women serving over seas that we don't get to see all of these things. I also think the American people would be able to form a better opinion on whether we should stay or go!

The media is the problem. They focus in on the death and destruction faced by the troops on a daily basis, invading our homes with all the negativity they can muster. It started with instant coverage toward the end of the vietnam conflict and it continues today. If the technology that the media uses was always available, how loud to you think the civilian population would have screamed to get out on "D" day when 132,000 allied forces died within 3 months.

This is a good question, but it depends on what we mean by "show." Additional video coverage might just show more carnage, and then how does war differ from violent entertainment?

What we need is reporting from independent global sources that have no vested interests -- no catering to advertising, no posing as the propaganda machine for a government, no perpetuating the assumptions that empower the military-industrial complex.

What we DON'T need is more video-based entertainment posing as "news"

They need to show it all now, not ten years down the road with a title as: The raging war as it was in Iraq.
