i have been playing bass upright for two year how do you get your fingers to stop hurting i will soon be starting electric bass guitar help please any thing on the bass and or bass guitar will help

Well, first off I'm sure electric bass will be easier on your hands than the upright. Also, you're probably still growing, which could be contributing to your hands aching. Keep playing and building strength, you'll get to where it won't hurt to play any more. Good luck!

ive played electric bass for a pretty long time, and i didnt get really into it until last year. I play every day now and my fingertips never hurt anymore. just practice until your fingers are about to bleed, and then just stop for a few days. it will hurt, and suck, but after the blister heals the skin on your fingertips will be a lot tougher. and it wont hurt when you play. thats what i did...

the only answer I can give you is play every day even if your fingers hurt. you need to build your callouses up and after a while they will almost become permanant unless you go like a year without playing. also avoid using lotion on your finger tips while you are conditioning. if that does not work I have no idea as this is the only real way to get there.
