Arteries pulsate with the heart b/c they carry blood away from the heart. Venous blood gushes b/c it is carrying blood to the heart. Arterial bleeds look worse b/c they project blood all over the place and venous bleeds just gush blood like water from a water hose.

arterial bleeding is a much brighter shade of red with a quick spurting action to it (spraying blood) while venous is a very dark red and is more like oozing

arterial bleeding is in contrast to venous blood, a gusher, and the guy is dead, sorry. Venous blood isn't as red, or full of oxygen.
