a, b, and e because those bonds are both nonmetals, and covalent bonds only contain nonmetals.

Without getting too fancy (coordinate covalent), there are two choices, covalent and ionic. Based on chem properties, we would expect NaCl and CaO to be ionic, as we have metallic elements that form ions.
