I'd have to go with Reese Witherspoon, although shes in her mid-20s I believe. She is down to earth, positive and pro-active.
For the guys, Bono comes to mind (and I don't even like U2)
Oh and I have to mention Jon Bon Jovi too (whom I'm listening to right now) he has been married to his first and only girlfriend forever. Hes given back to his community in so many ways, donated a million $ for hurricane relief....theres so much hes done....I LOVE him!

Raven Symone is the little girl who used to be on the Cosby Show. Not Rudy, but the one that's even younger than Rudy. I think she was the adopted or step daughter of Lisa Bonet on the TV show. She's also the star on That's So Raven on the Disney channel. She plays a girl who can see into the future, but most of the time, what she see isn't what it ends up being. It's like the movie Paycheck, but instead of being a thriller, it's a comedy.
There are lots of role models for young people.
In baseball, there's Albert Pujols. He's one of the greatest player today, and yet, he's so humble. He started a foundation to help children with Down Syndrome.
In football, there's Doug Flutie and Dan Marino who started foundations to help autistic children.
In showbiz, there's Jerry Lewis and his yearly MS telethon.
There's Oprah Winfrey who helps women from third world countries get an education.
Heather Mills-McCartney who fights for the end of using land mines.
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet who give out money to lots of charities, but never receive the publicity or attention that they deserve.

Sorry, there aren't if you look between the lines. Why do people admire celebs in the first place? Most people admire them because they want what they have instead of valuing a good education and the means to accomplish your dream. For example, I admire Joss Whedon because of his works, such as Buffy the Vampire, Angel, etc. not because of the kind of life he lives. Anyway, back to answering your question, I believe that there are positive role models out there, but not those who are apparent enough to make a fool of themselves like the Britney, Paris, and the rest of the freaks that exists. Everyone should just look up to those who gave them life and those who helped them growing up.

She has her own tv show... and she used to be on the Cosby's show.. Also, even though she has a chubby figure it showz that you don't necessarily have to be anorexic to be pretty in the outside world... she doesnt do drugz or alcohol.. thatz why i nominate her

tyra banks is the ultimate role model... especially for young women. in her own personal life she doesnt do drugs or drink, she doesnt spend her money like crazy (she admits to being the "queen of cheap"), you dont hear about her in the tabloids (except for the stupid ones saying she was fat), she was a successful and HEALTHY model, and she discusses real life issues affecting young people everyday on the tyra show. i look up to tyra because she epitomizes how a public icon SHOULD behave and she is the most "normal" celebrity out there.

Although she's getting divorced, through no fault of her own, I think that Reece Witherspoon is a pretty good role model of actress and mother. She seems really down to earth and you don't hear about her partying and doing drugs. She's got my vote.

i think tyra banks is a good role model. how about the soilders who fight for our country?the soilders give up their life for are country. my role model would have to be my mother because my mom is the strongest woman i have ever know. my mom has raised 10 kids and she has allways been their for us and she has allways stood up for what she belives in my mom has taught me to belive in your self and what u do in your life is up to u
